Being the first reigning queen of Silla, she met all the difficulties of such title head-on, gaining the favor of her people before succeeding her father to the throne. She ruled at the end of the Three Kingdoms period. But even after being crowned as a ruler of the kingdom, many people believed that female rulers were weak and that the male aristocracy should be in the leading positions.
